i have upgraded my GT-I9082 from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2. after rebooting the device i got boot loop.i have tried to enter in the recovery mode i am not able to enter in to it.
While entering in downloading mode it sayes “current emmc firm version” in red alert.

I have tried to upload the CWM recovery through odin but its not getting uploaded.

can any one faced this problem and suggest a solution?

    • RohanKandwal

“current emmc firm version” is no error, it is just showing your EMMC version, you can ignore it. First of all, try to unbrick your device.

You are able to enter in the Download Mode, right? Re-Flash your device using this tutorial. Just make sure that you are not downgrading, it causes problem sometimes.

Reply back with Odin’s Message box’s log, if tutorial doesn’t work for you. If it does, reply with success message so that other users can be benefited from your example.

    Hi rohan,

Thanks for the response,i have tried to flash the device but it is not happening.

    usb cable are good.

one more thing in the above tutorial point 5.says Check One Package, Auto Reboot and Protect OPS check boxes in options.

but in odin 3 there is no such options. It is in odin multidownloader 4 and it is not connecting my device.

    what i have to do?

    • RohanKandwal

Sorry for the confusion, apparently I might have written tutorial considering Odin 4. You should use the Odin provided here Odin 3, if you have single .tar.md5 file then you should click on PDA and browse it. Rest of the tutorial is the same. Check Auto Reboot and F. Reset Timer boxes only.

I’ll update the tutorial, later in the day. Thanks for notifying. Is Odin 3 detecting your device?

  • Bhanjie

My samsung 9082 would start up after attempting to upgrade to OS 4.2. It cannot enter the recovery mode either. “Samsung” text flashes when I switch on and it remains like that till forever. Phone is able to enter the download mode. Pls what can I do? Thanks.

    • RohanKandwal

Just do what is mentioned in the tutorial. Only make sure that you are upgrading your phone or installing the same firmware version. Don’t try to downgrade the device, it might brick it.

  • Bhanjie

Okay. I will try the steps and revert. However, my country (Nigeria) is not listed on the “Android OS ROM” downloads page. Any suggested (country) ROM that I can download please? Thanks.

    • RohanKandwal

Firmware for your country is available on sammobile.com. I have written a post on how to download firmware from sammobile. Please read the guide and reply if you face any problems.

      • Bhanjie

    Hi Rohan,

First of all I appreciate your time effort to post good information and firmware.

Second, I have a Samsung Mega SGH-I527 AT&T unlocked phone that I am using with T-Mobile. AT&T has blocked the the WIFI calling and Mobile Hotspot features on this phone. Any suggestions to make these features available? This phone is running firmware 4.2.2..
