OMG! Thanks a lot! YOU SAVED ME! By the way, I used a SanDisk 8GB Class 4 with your tutorial and it worked perfectly on my Brazilian I9300I that hard bricked after I tried to update it to Android 4.4.4 through Odin 3.09 using the Firmware I9300IDDUBNK2 from India. I used your workaround and reinstalled another Firmware from Trinidad & Tobago with Android 4.4.4 and everything is fine. Again, Thank you very much!

Hi Rohan, I followed your described method but it did not work for me! Nothing happened when I held down the 3 buttons! Then I read from XDA Developer forum that some had to remove the battery, reinsert, and also connect the USB cable to the PC (to get power I supposed), and that got me the bootloader. Then I flashed the stock ROM, it rebooted after a successful flash, but the reboot hung a the Samsung logo. Didn’t go very far! At least I got from a hardbrick to a softbrick. Even did the Odin flash again to no avail! After much research and consulting friendsf, we found that we have to wipe all data and did a factory reset. That did the trick! This Indian ROM is really vicious! All beware!!!
Thanks to all you guys who posted and helped in one way or another!

One question: it seems the T and T ROM is very popular with our Brazilian friends. Will it work on a China purchased I9300I ? Dare not experiment after the Indian ROM episode! Anyone with this experience?

        • RohanKandwal

Thanks for the informative comments, it will help others. Seeing as many are trying different region ROM, I will say one thing. NEVER INSTALL ROM OF A DIFFERENT REGION.
A different region means different modem and radio settings. Also, the manufacturer might have released slightly different hardware in different part of the world. So, just stay away from them.

Same thing just happened to me with my brand new S3 Neo purchased from China! This Indian ROM is a death trap! People should be warned!!!
Now I’m going to try this unbrick method. Holding my breath …

Is there any way to extract/make a debrick.img from the stock rom? I can download the stock rom, but I can’t find a debrick.img anywhere on the internet for my SGH-i257m (variant of the S4 mini). I don’t have a usb jig, or access to another phone of the same model.
